As I've been spending at lot of time on a screen during this lockdown, I've been browsing a lot of university Instagram accounts, especially those specialising in textiles and sculpture. I came across a student studying sculpture at UAL.
Her name is Pheobe Ackers and has recently graduated from the University of Arts London. Her work in soft scultpure really caught my eye and might be an interesting route to experiment with. I sent her a DM on Instagram and had a little conversation with her about her work, where she drew inspiration from, and what sort of artists she liked and why. She recommended me some really great artists, which I will look and research in the next couple weeks.
